The Powder that Works Inside and Out
We love to drink matcha in our teas, and other special beverages at Starbucks but there’s more to be uncovered about this special powder. We all know it is great for a metabolism boost and does wonders for the body internally, but it is also amazing for your skin. I’m going to explain why this powder would be beneficial for combination skin types.
Matcha powder comes from finely milled green tea leaves, originating China but predominately used in Japan during rituals. Matcha is a gentle antioxidant that's suitable for all skin types making it a great alternative for those with potentially sensitive skin and is becoming more popular in skincare.
Treatment for acne: Matcha is a major anti-fungal agent which helps with acne and pesky breakouts. Needless to say, matcha tea is a wonderful, natural skin remedy. Matcha can relieve acne symptoms because matcha is filled with antioxidants that repair damaged skin back to health.
Works for oily skin: Instead of just absorbing excess oil, like many acne products do, green tea stops it at the source by reducing the production of sebum (the skin’s natural oil) by the glands in each pore.
Complexion: If you’re looking for a natural way to clear and even out your complexion, look no further. Matcha contains a property, chlorophyll, which is great for an even skin tone. Chlorophyll makes matcha a great choice if you want to detox your skin. It cleanses your skin of toxins and protects it against chemicals that would clog your pores.
The rich supply of antioxidants in matcha helps to protect you against inflammation, slows down the aging process, reveals tight skin that retains moisture, and evens your skin tone.
